Homemade Boho Dress

Hi everyone, welcome to my first instrutable!

I want to show you how I made this Boho dress, ideal for summer or for the beach. It is simple to make and can adapt to sizes M L or XL.

Supplies

Machines

  • Sewing machine
  • Overlock machine

Tools & supplies

  • Hindu cloth 1.25m.x 2m. (is a textile with corrugated and engraved surface)
  • 90 cm elastic ribbon
  • 3m x 1.5 cm lace ribbon
  • 3m x 2 cm lace ribbon
  • white elastic thread for sewing machine
  • White thread
  • Scissors
  • Tape measure
  • A chalk
  • Ruler

Pieces to Cut

For the upper part of the skirt. (Front and back)

  • 2 piece 75cm x 44 cm more seam allowance (1,5-2 cm).

For the bottom of the skirt. (Front and back)

  • 2 piece 75cm x 48 cm more seam allowance.

For the back of the blouse.

  • 2 piece 70 cm x 24 cm, more seam allowance.

For the front of the blouse.

  • 1 piece 42 cm x 29 cm, more seam allowance.

For the front facing of the blouse.

  • 1 piece 42 cm x 14 cm, more seam allowance.

For the straps of the blouse.

  • 4 strips 4 cm x 50 cm

For the belt.

  • 1 strip 12 cm x 180 cm

-Overlay the equal pieces.

-Join the two pieces of 75x44 cm by the short side and sew the 2cm lace ribbon. (First pic)

-Now, join the 75x48 pieces by the short side, sew only 13 cm from one side first, then join this with the ribbon of the previous piece.

-Place the elastic ribbon on the waist and sew the other side at 13 cm equally.

- Make a hem in all the free edges of the cloth.

Confection: Blouse Front

-Make the pattern on paper.

-Use the pattern to cut the piece of 42cm x 24cm, leaving seam allowance.

-Cut a facing, from the same cloth or cover cloth.

-Sew the 1.5cm lace ribbon on the outside of the cloth, distributed in five parts with approx. 5cm of separation.

-Sew the facing on the inside of the blouse and between these two put the straps. (Picture 1,2,3)

- For straps use the strip of 4cm by 50cm, fold and sew it.
- Turn the facings and iron.

-Use the piece of 70x24 cm and sew with elastic thread, make parallel lines with a separation of approx 1cm until the whole piece is completed, stretching the fabric very well, next iron (Picture 1-2)

-Sew the straps on the back of the blouse.

- Face the rights of front and back and close the sides.

- Join the blouse with the skirt, stretching both pieces very well before sewing. (picture 1-2)

- For the belt use the strip of 180x12 cm, fold it lengthwise in half and sew it.

- Sew the lace ribbon on the front of the belt. (picture 3-4-5)
