Homemade Almond Kit Kat bars/candies - almond flavored white chocolate Kit Kat bars with saffron and cardamom!

These candy bars are my effort to give one of my favorite chocolates Kit Kat, an exotic Indian flavor! My creation today is an easy homemade white chocolate Kit Kat infused with flavors of almonds, cardamom and saffron with bits of almonds in every bite! One bite and you cannot stop until you have had more!

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:

1 cup chopped white chocolate

1 to 2 teaspoons of badam or almond mix powder (I have used MTR brand which has almond bits in them along with cardamom and saffron; you can use any brand of your choice); available in any Indian store (if you cannot find these, just infuse the melted chocolate with some almond meal, a dash of cardamom powder and saffron strands)

1 teaspoon unsalted butter

Wafer cream biscuits, preferably vanilla flavor

Slivered almonds; optional

INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE ALMOND KIT KAT BARS:

Prepare a large baking pan or sheet by lining with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Grease if using aluminum foil to help in releasing the kit kat candy.

Roughly chop white chocolate into similar sized pieces and place in a bowl.

Melt this chocolate either in a microwave or over a double boiler until it just starts to melt.If using double boiler, set it up by placing the bowl with chocolate over a pan of hot simmering water, but make sure the bowl does not touch the water.

Continue to stir and heat and when almost totally melted, add butter and badam mix powder (1 to 2 teaspoons depending upon how strong you like your almond flavor). You could also add some almond powder, a dash of cardamom powder and some saffron strands instead.

Give it a good stir until chocolate is smooth, satiny and creamy.

Remove from heat.

Now, dip one wafer cream biscuit into the melted chocolate; using a spoon, pour flavored chocolate over the wafer, turning it often with the spoon to coat it completely.

Gently lift the fully coated wafer chocolate with a fork and tap the fork on the edge of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.

Now gently place the chocolate coated wafer onto the prepared pan.

Continue doing this with the rest of the wafers.

While the chocolate is still wet, stud or top each chocolate coated wafer with slivered almonds.

Now, allow the bars to set completely either at room temperature or in the refrigerator for quick setting.

Once the almond flavored kit kat bars have completely set, gently slide it off the parchment paper or foil and enjoy with family and friends.

They make a great edible gift for any occasion!Enjoy!!!

You can use any flavor of cream wafer biscuits that you like.

If you do not have ready made almond mix powder, just finely blend, blanched, peeled and dry almonds to a fine powder and flavor the chocolate with this along with about ΒΌ tsp freshly ground cardamom powder and some crushed strands of saffron. Adding cardamom and saffron is optional but gives it an exotic flavor!
