In this tutorial ill be explaining in as much detail as possible how to make a pipe like this

Lets start off with the wood you'll be using. Most pipes are made from briar which is difficult to get here where so i just went with blue gum but here is a link to the most popular wood choices

then you'll need the right tools to make it easier so you'll need a chisel, drill, 3 or 4 mm drill bits, circular saw drill bit, 100 grit and 500 grit sand paper and if you do not have access to a grinder you can use a rasp

So i edited the picture with orange stripes indicating that the grain of the wood is going vertically straight up from bottom to top. Now you need to attach the circular saw bit to the drill and drill straight down until it cant go any deeper that is going to shape the outside of the pipe bowl. Now you need to chisel around the out side of the cut but keep a bit of wood on the side as shown in the third picture because that is where you're stem will be shaped

Now after watching the video you can take a drill bit or even a tooth pick to measure the depth of the middle hole and after doing so you need to make a pencil mark on the out side showing how deep it is and then you need to make another mark beneath the first mark. the two marks should be roughly the length of you`re ring finger nail apart from each other because that second mark is where you are going to cut it in a straight horizontal line and the first mark which indicates the depth of the middle hole is where you`re tobacco is going to be burning.

so after doing that the pipe should look something like the first picture of this step

now you draw what the shape of the stem will look like and cut the top and bottom piece off like in the second picture

now you need to make everything round by rasping or grinding. You also need to make the middle hole wider for you're tobacco and take a 3mm or 4 mm drill bit and drill a hole from the stem that leads to the deepest part of the middle hole
