Home Made Scented Playdough

Playdough is even better when you make it yourself and you will love this home made peppermint scented playdough.

Supplies

  • 1 cup plain flour
  • Half cup salt
  • Half cup water
  • Mixing bowl
  • Mixing spoon
  • Green food colouring/washable paint
  • Peppermint essential oil

Add Ingredients to the Mixing Bowl

Pour all the ingredients (except the water, food colouring and peppermint essential oil) into the mixing bowl.

Add Half Cup Water

Mix the flour, salt and water together

If the dough is too dry then add more water but if the dough is too wet then add more flour

Adding Food Colour or Washable Paint

Once the dough is ready make a shallow hole in the middle and place 1 tea spoon of food colouring or washable paint, I chose green food colouring.

Add Scent

After thoroughly mixed repeat the process of making a shallow hole in the middle of the dough and then add 10 drops of peppermint essential oil and mix well.

Playdough Complete

If you want to make other colours just add a different food colour or washable paint and if you want a different smell just use a different essential oil.

You can keep your Playdough in a bag and even store it in the refrigerator to make it last for longer, but it will only last up to about four weeks due to what it’s made out of. If you want to preserve what you make you can Put it in the oven for 45mins to an 1 hour at 200f.
