To make a pizza base at home you'll need to make sure the following are in your shopping cart.

  • Flour (300 gms)
  • Baker's Yeast (2 Tbsp)
  • Sugar (2 Tbsp)
  • Water (400 ml)
  • Olive Oil (4 Tbsp)

Prepping the Yeast Water

The Yeast Water is one of the most important things in this recipe.

First heat the water in a bowl, just as it is about to reach it's boiling point, add 2 Tablespoons of sugar to it and stir well. When the sugar is dissolved, add 2 Tablespoons of yeast to it. Stir well and turn off the flame.

Let the water cool down as you do preparations with the flour.

The Flour

Now while the Yeast water is setting down, in a bowl add the flour. Make a decent sized grove in the center and add 3 Tablespoons of olive oil in it and give it a rough mix with the hand.

Make sure your hands are completely clean because you'll be using your hand to mix the dough.

Mixing the Dough

After giving a rough mix for the flour with the olive oil, add a little bit of the cooled down yeast water. As you add the water keep mixing the dough. Make sure you add the water in small quantities as the dough can become runny if you add too much water.

After mixing the dough properly, allow it to settle for about 90 minutes.

After the dough settles for about an hour and a half, it's time to bring it into the shape of a pizza.

Cut the dough and make it into balls of your desired size. Now sprinkle a bit of flour on the dough balls and also on a flat surface. Now use a rolling pin to bring the dough into a circular shape of a decent thickness.

Storing the Base

You can use the base right away to bake pizzas, or store it in an airtight container and use it later. The dough can be used to bake pizzas in either a microwave oven or a pit oven.

Now that you have an awesome pizza base, use it in the best way possible to make some delicious pizzas. In my next Instructable, I'll show you how to bake Pizzas using this base.
