Home Made Guitar Pick From Recycled Materials
When I was a kid I would play my guitar at any given time.
As I progressed in my playing skills, my use of guitar picks increased.
Also, because I used to take my guitar with me everywhere - I lost many picks over the years.
Therefore, after buying a huge number of picks over the years, I decided to learn how to produce specifications independently from materials that exist in every home.
Personally, I prefer to play with relatively flexible picks , so I choose to make it from an old plastic card (a credit or hotel plastic card for example), a notebook cover or a regular plastic bottle.
Supplies
If you are interested in making flexible guitar parts, I recommend you use light plastic. Therefore you will need:
1. Notebook cover and/or plastic card and/or drinking bottle.
2. Scissors
3. A writing tool for drawing the desired outlines
Drawing the Desired Outlines and Cutting Accordingly
If you are using a plastic card or notebook cover, place them on the table.
In the next step, if you have a guitar pick that you like, place it directly on the plastic.
Now, with the help of the writing tool, draw the outline of the pick as precisely as possible.
In the last step, take the scissors and cut the plastic according to the drawing you received in the previous step.
In the last step - if the cut is not "smooth", you are welcome to sand the specification you received with sandpaper or alternatively correct the shape with the scissors you have.
If you use a plastic bottle, we would like to use the hard part of the bottle which is usually found in the upper part.
We will gently and carefully cut the bottle so that we get only the hard part of the bottle.
The rest of the steps are exactly the same as the process we performed with the other materials - sketching the pattern, cutting and smoothing the contours if necessary.
Start Playing With No Worries
After you have made the cut, you have the new specification in your hands.
Now, grab your guitar and start playing your favorite song - in the process, check the quality of the specs and its shape. If it is not comfortable - try to make adjustments to its shape until you reach the optimal shape for you.
Enjoy!
