Holiday Hot Chocolate
In just a few short days it will be Christmas and I wanted to share with you this rich and thick creamy hot chocolate. My sister made us some last time we were at my parents house and she used coconut cream to make it so creamy and ever since learning her way of making hot chocolate I don't think I can ever buy the pre-made stuff again. The toppings are completely customizable for any holiday! If you want to make your own Holiday Hot Chocolate, follow the step by step instructable or watch the video tutorial here:
Ingredients & Tools
Ingredients
- 1 can (13.5 oz) unsweetened Coconut Cream
- 2 Cup Milk (your choice)
- ¼ Cup granulated Sugar
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- 1 Tablespoon Cocoa Powder
- ¼ Cup Chocolate Chips
- ¼ Cup White Chocolate Chips
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Topping (optional)
Tools
- All Clad Sauce Pan 3qt
- Sprial Whisk
- Measuring Cup
- Pyrex Mixing Bowl
- Misc. kitchen utensils
Combine Ingredients
In a saucepan add in coconut cream, your choice of milk, heavy cream (if your using it), sugar, salt, and cocoa powder.
Stir
Stir everything till combined. I switched from a spatula to a spiral whisk to make the job easier.
To the Stovetop
Turn stove to medium heat and heat till mixture is at a simmer, make sure your stirring occasional, you do not want anything to burn. Then remove the hot chocolate from the stove and place it back on your work surface.
Add Chocolate!
Next, add both kinds of chocolate chips and allow to set for 5 minutes, (the chocolate will melt) avoid stiring during this time.
Stir Again
Stir mixture and add vanilla, and stir again until smooth.
Add to Serving Cups
Add to serving cups, add toppings and a candy cane!
Enjoy!
Enjoy this hot chocolate with the family and cozy around the fire for Christmas!
