Hide It!

Hide It hero.jpg

When designing, the workplane can become cluttered with shapes.

Instead of moving or deleting shapes that you may need, you can easily just hide the shapes from view until you need them again.

Instructions

    1. Continue to next step

Hide Section

Click on the red rectangle on the workplane and try hiding it to reveal what's underneath.

Instructions

    1. Select the red rectangle by clicking on it.
    2. Hide the selected shape by clicking on the hide icon (light bulb 💡) on the shape pop-up.
You can also hide the selected shape using the hotkey ctrl + H / ⌘ + H.
    3. Unhide the shape by using the icon on the top toolbar (light bulb 💡)
      The hotkey for unhide is ctrl + shift + H / ⌘ + shift + H

Hide Selection With Lasso Tool

Another way to hide objects is to click and drag a selection around the objects you want to hide. The click and drag function is called the lasso tool.

Instructions

    1. Make a selection by clicking on the screen and dragging a box around the object you want to hide
    2. Hide the selected shapes by clicking on the hide icon (light bulb 💡) on the shape pop-up.
    3. You can also hide the selected shape using the hotkey ctrl + H / ⌘ + H.
    4. Unhide the shape by using the icon on the top toolbar (light bulb 💡)
      The hotkey for unhide is ctrl + shift + H / ⌘ + shift + H

You Did It!

Nicely done!

Hiding shapes is a great tool to keep your work area tidy while you design. Note that clicking "Show all" in the top toolbar will unhide all objects that may be hidden in your design.

Things To Try

    1. You can hide multiple shapes at once by dragging the selection box around the shapes you want to hide, or you can shift+click on individual shapes.
