Hi! I'm Crappy, Stuff Me!
Meet Crappy, your toy friend you get to stuff!
I love this little guy, from the minute I saw his smile and teeth grinning we've been inseparable:-) To me Crappy is useful in two ways, he makes me smile and he hides my crap. The size I show you here is perfect, I can store a handful of stuff in that big mouth.
This is a super simple Instructables, my first so far. Hope you all get a new crappy friend!
Supplies
Fabric (your favorite)
Zipper (I've used 20cm)
Eyes (https://ebay.us/vbpEPP)
Thread to match your fabric… or not:-)
Tools:
Sewing machine
or use your hand stitching skillz
Prototyping…
Just a quick look at my prototypes, I made two. One for starters to just quickly test my idea… liked it, but too big and flimsy fabric. Second one… more on point but too small. As we all know the third was a charm!
Template
So the pattern is super simple and by adding the zipper you are practically done. All you ned is to sew her up like any other bag/punch and turn inside out. Next, add yes to your newborn Crappy!

Branding
With most of my projects, I like to add a visual context by adding some logo or other graphic element. So heres my added tag with a Crappy logo. Made a stamp to make the label look 100! A wide cotton band is perfect, just make sure the details on your stamp are not too small.
Down to Business
If you're like me, pretty new to the art of sewing, this is the perfect project, my friend. You get to add a zipper and do a very straightforward sewing job. Crappy is like a pouch, so you sew her insides and turn her insides out. I've had to rip the zipper off because I didn't pay attention to the way the zipper was attached not considering the turning inside out:-)
Look! Almost Done…
After sewing, the next step is very rewarding… Adding eyes make Crappy come alive:-) I've experimented with the placement of the eyes and it's amazing how much of a difference it makes when they are narrow or wide.
Proud Father of Three!
Showtime!
Crappy comes in many shapes and colors, I'm making one with fur and will share as soon as it is done. What I love about this toy animal/thing/creature is how the placement of the eyes affects its expression. The zipper makes for some fun facial expressions as well.
I'd love to see others make their own Crappy and share the outcome and what they stuff he/r with:-)
