Welcome to our project. We have come up with an idea to design something that will be able to make compost break down quicker. We made this bin using simple materials and were able to create something that could make decomposing a whole lot easier.

Supplies

The supplies that were used to create this project were the following.

  • Wood
  • Screws
  • Tin foil
  • Hinges

Designing

The first thing that we did was design the way to create the compost bin. We then gathered all of the products to create the design without putting it together.

Build

The first thing that we did was cut out all six pieces to make them even. The next thing that we did was install all of the screws into each piece of wood so it would stay together. We then installed the hinges onto the box so the box was able to open up. We then took the top piece of wood and cut out a whole in the top so it would give easy access. The next step that we did was line the inside of the box with tinfoil so it would be able to hold heat inside.

Ending

The final things that we did on our project was add some color to it. We ended up spray painting it a variety of colors just to make it look good. The very last thing that we did was add a latch/handle on it so it would be a lot easier to open up and so it would stay closed.
