Pizza Heart
This is a very simple, cute way to celebrate Valentine's day!
Gather Your Ingredients!
1 store bought uncooked pizza dough (13.8 oz), or any homemade pizza dough will work (try gluten free!)
1 can of pizza sauce, or homemade pizza sauce
1 package of pepperoni
1 package of pizza blend cheese, or whatever cheese you prefer
Flour for dusting
Oil to grease the sheet
Tools:
Cutting board
Large flat baking sheet
Optional- Silicone baking sheet
Small heart shaped cookie cutter
Rolling Pin
Spoon
Measuring cups
Knife
Prepare the Dough
Wash your hands!
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
Make sure that the place that you will be rolling out your dough is nice and clean
Take a pinch of flour and dust your rolling surface
Place the dough on the surface and put flour on the rolling pin to avoid sticking
Roll from the inside of the dough out, making it around 1/4" thick and 11" by 11"
Flour the top of the dough, and fold in half
Apply slight pressure on the dough with the end of a spoon to create a half heart outline
Make two parallel cuts on the outline, one on the top and one on the bottom
Then carefully cut the curve
You can make your heart as big as you want, I made mine around 9 inches tall
Unfold your dough, and place on a greased cookie sheet, or a sheet with a silicone mat on top.
Bake the dough with nothing on it for 8 minutes, then take out of the oven
The Toppings
Take out the pepperoni, cutting board, and heart shaped cookie cutter
Stack up the pepperoni and center the cutter over them
Press down until the cutter cuts through all of the pepperoni
Spread 2 tablespoons of sauce on the cooked dough, but feel free to add as little or as much as you would like
Add a generous amount of cheese on the pizza and arrange the pepperoni on top of the cheese.
Bake for 5-9 minutes and enjoy!
