Headless Horseman (Scroll Saw)

I had been looking at the man and dog ornaments and thought it would be fun to do a Halloween version, after a bit of thinking I came up with the idea of doing the Headless Horseman.

Supplies

Piece of scrap wood roughly 11cm by 13 cm

Paper template

Painters tape

Glue

Scroll saw (don't know blade type or size)

Belt sander

I roughly constructed my template using a ruler and a compass, the sizing was based off other patterns and I guessed the angles for the body position (these worked out fine as the finished model doesn't fall over).

Glue the template to the block of wood, you will have an easier time removing it at the finish if you first cover the wood with painters tape and glue the template to that (which I didn't do).

Carefully cut around the template outline with the scroll saw.

I glued my paper template directly to the wood so had to sand it off, I also cleaned off the base of the foot and the rear side of the piece.
