Headache Beater Heater

This is perfect when you soooo need a break. Speed sew one or two of these, so when you need that break, you will be so grateful you have this on hand. Snip, zip, and fill. Even the most inexperienced seamstress, young or old, can whip this up in minutes. Zen is minutes away!

Supplies

Fabric quarters (or at least two 8x8 inch square)*

cardstock template

funnel

1 cup rice

sewing machine or needle/thread

*Note: I used two coordinating fabrics, one for the front, one for the back. But, you can use the same fabric for the front and back.

Make Template and Cut Fabric

No specific dimensions here. Draw "mask" large enough to cover your eyes, temple to temple. Then, trace around that to make drawing a 1/2 inch larger. You want to make sure you make large enough to account for 1/2 inch stitch margins.

Stitch Edges

Stack front piece and back piece right side in, back side out. Stitch 1/2 inch around perimeter using sewing machine. Leave 1/2 opening so you can reverse fabric and add rice.

Reverse Fabric and Add Rice

Reverse fabric by pulling inside out through opening. Place funnel in opening and fill with rice. I like mine quite full but if left less filled, it can relax more over your eyes.

Stitch Close

Tuck fabric in opening and stitch closed. You can hand sew this if you prefer the stitch to be unseen.

Ready to Use?

When ready to us, place in microwave for 30 secs. Flip and microwave 30 seconds more. I add a few drops of essential oils to each side. Place over eyes and relax.
