I decided to make this because I was actually trying to use an old baby hat to hold my hair and I thought it looked and awful lot like a doll, so I made what you are about to see.

Supplies

You will need:

  • A hat (one you don't plan on using again)
  • felt
  • some sort of stuffing
  • hair elastics (2 normal size 2 small)
  • 1 bobby pin
  • glue or tape
  • yarn in a color that makes sense for hair
  • a very very very small amount of experience

Stuff Your Head With Stuffing

Take a very small amount of stuffing, like a handful, but depending on the size of your hat you might want to do more or less. I used a baby hat so I didn't need much. Then wrap one of your normal sized elastics around where the stuffing ends. And believe it or not that is all the stuffing you'll need!

A.R.M.= All Ready Made

These are the easiest arms I have ever seen. All you do is pinch a little bit of fabric on each side and hold them with the 2 small elastics. And that's all you have to do, it's that easy!

Waist and Body

To make the waist and body just take your second normal sized elastic and wrap it around just a little below the arms.

Eyes

Trace and cut out one eye shape out of white felt then use that peace to cut out another eye shape out of the same felt. Use a black marker of sharpie to draw the pupil of the eye. If you cant to you can use a colored marker to draw the color on the eyes. Then you can use double sided tape, a tape loop, or nay kind of glue. (Not wood glue.) And that's it!

Nose and Mouth

IMG_20210117_153517.jpg

Cut a mouth out of pink or red felt and glue or tape it on just like the eyes. Then for the nose spread open a bobby pin and then stick the ends into the hat. Then once you've done that hook the fabric over the point of the bobby pin.

Hair

Take a small container and wrap the yarn around the container a bunch of times and then cut it but don't take it off. Then with another peace tie them all together in the middle. DO NOT CUT THE EXTRA OFF, YOU WILL NEED IT!!!!! Then at a spot opposite to the tie cut all the pieces yarn at that point. STILL DO NO CU OFF THE EXTRA AT THE TOP, YOU NEED TO USE IT NOW!!!!! Now you can use that extra peace at the top. Use it to tie it through the fabric ant the top of the head. Depending on the hat you might have to make a hole to fit your yarn through. Then unwind the yarn like it shows in the video. And now you're done!

The Final Product

The result is an adorable doll that can easily be taken anywhere. I hope this was helpful and if you make this please share it, I would love to see how it came out!
