Harry Potter Character Themed Chess Set
I made a Harry Potter character themed chess set. It has 2 teams: Harry's and Voldemort's,. harry's team has Harry as king, Dumbeldore as Queen, 2 Dobbies as Bishops, 2 Hedwigs as Knights, 2 Penseivesas Towers, and 8 Golden snitches as pawns. Voldemort's team has Voldemort as king, Belatrix as Queen, 2 Dementors as Bishops, 2 Naginis as Knights, 2 cauldrons as Towers, and 8 Death Eatres. as pawns.
Supplies
Wood or hard cardboard, paint, clay, carving tools, building tools, nails, hot glue, saw, glaze spray
Making the Chess Peices
Using the clay, (and photos if you want) make the clay peices which are based off of Harry Potter characters. Overall there are 32, sixteen on each team. after you are done making/ carving all of them from the clay (you can look for pictures online), you should fire them, or wait for them to dry if it's air dry clay. when they are dry, paint them. after the paint is done drying, spray them with the glaze. put them in a safe place so they dont break.
Making the Box
First, you should design where you want to cut. you should cut 4 sides, and 2 bigger ones to be the bottom and the lid. when they are finished, glue them together with hot glue, and then nails. do not attach the lid yet. then, design the chess board on the lid. paint all the peices of the box, (you should use spray paint, since it'smuch faster). then, using a hinge, attach the lid to the box. you should also add a lock on the other side of the box, so that the peices dont fall out. after you are done with the box, you should put a lot of bubble wrap inside, so that the peices do not break.
Other Than All That...
now, you can take the peices out of the box before playing, and pt them back inside after you are done playing.make sureevrything is placed well, and that it works normaly.
Enjoy!
