Hanging Coconut Octopus Planter

This planter was really of fun to make. It's an easy project that isn't very time consuming and requires very little materials. The one material that is more challenging to get is the coconut shell. I found this coconut shell in a pond and planned to use it in a different project. The coconut shell was already hollow and had a small hole where the plant now comes out of. If you aren't as lucky as me, and you don't happen to find any coconut shells floating around in any ponds or lakes you can substitute the coconut for a different round, hollow object.
The other materials for this project are:
- 5 rubber bands
- A plant that can handle living upside down
- Red marker or sharpie
- Two furniture felt pads
- Wire
- Hot glue gun
Putting the Plant in the Planter

It's as easy as it looks. Take your plant and put it in the coconut shell.
Coloring the Rubber Bands

Take the red marker and color all the rubber bands
Adding the Rubber Bands

After coloring the rubber bands place each rubber band vertically on the coconut shell with even spaces in-between.
Final Details

After adding the rubber bands place the felt pads on the front of the coconut to be the eyes of the octopus. Then add the wire under the rubber bands where they all overlap at the top so you can hang your planter.
After this your planter is complete!
