Handmade Copper and Brass Lantern
This is my first Instructable so go easy. I'm more of a video/demo kind of guy so I have provided greater detail in that format. This project was a fun opportunity to create a functional and nice looking handmade copper and brass lantern. The video demonstrates everything that is needed. This project was made using the following:
- Thin copper sheet
- Plumbing fittings
- 1/2" female adapter
- 1/2" plug
- 3/4" cap
- 1" x 1 1/4" coupling
- Glass bottle( I used one of those Starbucks glass bottles)
- Brass sheet
- Solder
- Flux
- A wick for your flame
- Hand tools
Overall, it was a fun project and I'm pleased with the end result.
***If I were to revisit this project I would suggest providing more holes in the top. It is too restrictive and results in a small flame. Also, you don't need a lathe but I used it because that is just one of the several tools and machines that I own.***
Enjoy!!
