Handmade Copper and Brass Lantern

Handmade Decorative Metal Copper and Brass Lantern

This is my first Instructable so go easy. I'm more of a video/demo kind of guy so I have provided greater detail in that format. This project was a fun opportunity to create a functional and nice looking handmade copper and brass lantern. The video demonstrates everything that is needed. This project was made using the following:

  • Thin copper sheet
  • Plumbing fittings
    • 1/2" female adapter
    • 1/2" plug
    • 3/4" cap
    • 1" x 1 1/4" coupling
  • Glass bottle( I used one of those Starbucks glass bottles)
  • Brass sheet
  • Solder
  • Flux
  • A wick for your flame
  • Hand tools

Overall, it was a fun project and I'm pleased with the end result.

***If I were to revisit this project I would suggest providing more holes in the top. It is too restrictive and results in a small flame. Also, you don't need a lathe but I used it because that is just one of the several tools and machines that I own.***

Enjoy!!
