Let’s face it: everyone can buy a birthday present in the nearest shop, while the amount of people, who can create handmade gifts, is much less than that. So, if you are looking for new ideas, this coffee-inspired Instructable may be your best choice!

Supplies

So, what exactly do you need to create a handmade coffee picture? You will need the following supplies:

  • Coffee grains
  • Ground coffee
  • Scotch tape
  • Painter's tape
  • A plastic bottle
  • Scissors
  • A brush
  • Presspaper (around 2 mm thick)
  • Glue

Take a plastic bottle and cut off its upper part. Then cut this piece into halves and remove the part, to which the cap is attached. As a result, you should get a piece of plastic, the shape of which resembles that of a cup.

Cut Out the Presspaper Cup Element

Having prepared the plastic element, take presspaper and cut the bottom part of the cup and the background for your picture out of it. Attach the parts to each other using the glue. Having done that, wrap the ready-made cup-shaped element into the painter’s tape to prevent its deformation when applying glue.

Dredge the Element With Ground Coffee

Apply a layer of glue above the painter’s tape and dredge it with ground coffee. This layer will make the gaps between the coffee grains invisible and will form the firm basis for the cup.

Prepare the Saucer-Shaped Element

Take a piece of presspaper and cut the saucer-shaped element out of it. Carefully bend both ends of the element not to break them. That is why, you should better use presspaper and not the ordinary one. Apply a layer of glue on the saucer-shaped element and dredge it with ground coffee as well.

Glue the Coffee Grains

As soon as the elements dry out well, you can proceed gluing coffee grains to the cup. It is recommended to start from the ends. Try to make them as even as possible to make it easy to glue the cup to the picture. The uneven sides can make the process impossible and you will have to start it all over again. Repeat the procedure with the saucer.

Decorate the Picture

Now, you can take the background for the picture you have prepared in advance and attach the cup to it. Try to be very careful not to break or spoil the elements. You can also decorate the picture with any other accessories and elements, such as spices, threads, ribbons or any other elements you wish. Hopefully, this Insructable will help you create a real coffee-inspired masterpiece!
