My project is a wood Halloween decoration. I made this to get into the Halloween spirit and have as a decoration on my table as I pass out candy.

Supplies

Three 5X5 inches of wood. One 18X2 inch piece of wood. Acrylic paint. Paint brushes. Poster paper to make stencils. Lazer cutout. Saw to cut out wood. Screen printer to make ¨Trick or Treat¨ sticker.

Cutting the Pieces of Wood

First, you need to find square wood to cut out with the three top squares with a saw. Second find a bigger piece of wood that you can stack the three on top. Then cut out the pieces of wood, and if needed sand the rough edges.

After the wood is all ready to be painted. Grab acrylic paint in the colors, orange, green, white, and black. Then paint all sides of the wood to the best of your abilities.

Making the Stencils

Using inkscape or an app of your choice, find stencils you think are cute or fitting to your taste online. Then you paste those photos into inkscape, trace them and make sure the lines are 0.00l and in red. Also change the paper size to the size of your wood and fit the stencil picture on the wood however you want it to look on your decoration. Use the lazer cutter and cut out the stencils out of a piece of poster paper.

Place the stencils you made onto the wood and make sure the stencils can stick to the wood and not move but still come off. Then paint over the stencils on the wood with black paint and take the stencils off instantly and don´t let the paint dry with the stencil still on the block, the paper will stick to the wood if you keep it on.

Trick or Treat Sticker

On inkscape you can choose a font to write out ¨Trick or Treat", or find a stencil you like. Then make the page size the size of the piece of wood and add your text where you would like it to stick on the wood. Use a screen printer to make your sticker. After the sticker is made stick it to your piece of wood.

Assembling the Decoration

Using hot glue, glue the small three blocks of wood onto the larger black block. Make sure the blocks are touching each other on the sides and have the same amount of room on each side of the blocks and front and back of the blocks.
