Halloween Chocolate Caramel Cake

What I made is a cake for halloween. I always loved dressing up for halloween and eating lots of sweets. So why don't I just combine my two favorite things into one.


Supplies

Here are the supplies you will need to make it. 

  1.  2 Cups of all purpose flour 
  2. 2 Cups granulated sugar 
  3. ¾ Cups of unsweetened cocoa powder 
  4. 2 tsp. Baking powder 
  5. 1.5 tsp. Baking soda 
  6. 1 tsp. Salt 
  7. 1 Cup of milk 
  8. 1.5 Cups of coconut oil ( melted )
  9. 2 lg. Eggs (room temperature)
  10. 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  11. 1 c. boiling water 
  12. Salted caramel syrup 
  13. Decorations and sprinkles (optional)
  14. 3 Orange icing tubes (optional)


Prepare Baking Pan and Oven

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.


Combine Ingredients

Combine 2 cups of flour ( all purpose ), 2 cups of granulated sugar, ¾ cups of unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 tsp of baking powder, 1.5 tsp baking soda, and 1 tsp of salt in a large mixing bowl.  Once dry ingredients are combined, add; 1 c. of milk, 1.5 c of coconut oil, 2 large eggs (room temperature), 2 tsp. of vanilla extract, and combine with dry ingredients.


Bake

Bake for 30-35 mins, until a toothpick comes clean. Let cake cool for 3-4 hours (completely cooled)

Decorate

Drizzle salted caramel syrup to taste and decorate with icing, sprinkles, and pumpkin or fall leaf.
