Halloween Bat Wings

This year for Halloween I wanted to try something new for dinner? Something spooky and tasty but also a main course dish. I decided to make chicken bat wings with a spicy marinaded. Please read further to make some amazing spooky bag wings.

Supplies

Bat wing marinade

• 6 full chicken wings

• 1/4 cup coconut aminos

• 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

• 1/4 sesame oil

• 1 tsp ginger, minced

• 2 cloves garlic, minced

• 1 Tbsp honey

• 1 Tbsp gochujang

• 1 Tbsp chili garlic sauce

• 1 tsp hot sauce

• 1 tsp squid ink

• salt to taste


Bloody Dipping Sauce

• 1/4 cup Barbecue Sauce

• 1 Tbsp sweet chili sauce

• 1 tsp gochujang


Utensils

• 1/4 measuring cup

• 1 Teaspoon

• 1 Tablespoon

• Knife

• Aluminum foil

• Baking sheet

• Whisk

• Metal bowl

• Ziploc gallon bag

• Cutting board

• Knife

• Basting brush

• Cooking oil spray

Mix Together the Marinade

• Mince ginger and garlic & to the metal bowl

• Measure out all remaining ingredients in the marinade and put in ingredients in

the metal bowl

• Take your whisk and whisk the ingredients together

Blood Dipping Sauce

• In another bowl mix together the blood dipping sauce ingredients

• whisk together and place in the refrigerator till you need it

Dislocate the Wings

• Dislocate the joints of the wings so they don't fold up when they cook

• Take one of chicken wings and lay flat on a dish

• Take the middle joint and gently bend it in the opposite way. Don't bend joint

back too far as you can tear the meat

• Take the joint closest to tip of the wing and bend it gently in the same way you

bent the first joint.

• Repeat the process with the other 5 wings

• Take your gallon Ziploc bag and place all the chicken in there.

• Place your mixed marinade into the bag

• Zip up the bag and massage the marinade into the chicken wings

• Place the bag on a plate and place that in the fridge overnight for the a

darker color

• Take your baking sheet and cover it with aluminum foil

• Take your cooking spray and spray the aluminum covered baking sheet

• Take the chicken out of the fridge and place them on the baking sheet

• Stretch them out so they don't fold up

• Take your smaller bowl and pour the remaining marinade left in the bag into that bowl. You will need this to

baste the chicken every 6 minutes for 30 minutes

• Place in the oven at 375 degrees for 30 minutes flipping every 6 minutes

• Bake your chicken for 6 minutes

• Remove from oven after 6 minutes and flip the chicken

• Once flipped baste them with the reaming marinade

• Place the chicken back in the oven to cook for another 6 minutes

• Repeat this process till you have reached 30 minutes

• Remove from the oven and serve with the Blood Dipping Sauce you placed in the refrigerator
