HOW TO MAKE a SIMPLE STRYROFOAM AIRPLANE / GLIDER
Hello there!
In this instructable im going to teach you how to make a very simple mini stryrofoam glider airplane!
This is a very easy build with super simple materials, anyone can build one of these, and I really hope you can have a lot of fun building it, as me and my little brother did!
Supplies
All you are going to need is some pieces of styrofoam, a scissor, a permanent marker (or just a pen), a insulating tape (or any kind of tape), and a ruler.
Planning
The first step is basically draw your plane, this shape works very well and I really recommend you to draw your airplane using this style.
- the main part of our plane has 12.5 cm (lenght) X 2.8 cm (height).
- the rectangular shaped big wing has 12 cm (lenght) X 3 cm (height).
- the rectangular shaped small wing has 5.5 cm (lenght) X 1.5 cm (height).
You can see that the main part has 2 drawn lines, one on it's center with 3 cm and another on it's tail, with 1.5 cm. make sure you have drawn this lines the same size as the height of your wings.
Cutting
Now you have to cut all the pieces, and both lines you made on the previous step, make sure that the thickness of the line's cut also matches the thickness of your stryrofoam sheets.
WARNING: scissors and utility knifes are dangerous tools, so you must call an adult for help.
Assembling
It's time to assemble your plane! putting all the pieces together just like in the photo above.
After that, you can cut some small pieces of stryrofoam and fix it on the front of the plane using insulating tape, this will increase the weight of the plane's front and make it more stable.
Customization
Your plane is now ready for action and you are free to customize it as you like! The fact that this is a small plane, makes easy for you to make a whole fleet of these, you can also try to make it more efficient!
Don't forget to share your project with us, we would love to see it! :)
God bless you! bye!
