HOW TO BUILD YOUR STYRACOSAURUS (DIY)

Hi Guys,
In these Instructables, I'll guide you to do your styracosaurus as a toy for kids.
Styracosaurus is a spike at the butt-end of a spear-shaft and lizard is a genus of herbivorous ceratopsian dinosaurs from the cretaceous period about 75 to 75.5 my.
It had four to six long parietal spikes extending from its neck frill, a smaller jugal horn on each of its cheeks, and a single horn protruding from its nose.
Let's start to do DIY styracosaurus with kids or also with beginners to DIY.

Drawing kit (include A3 sheet),
Craft Kit (scissors, glue),
Thermocol sheet (1" thick),
Card boards,
Toothpick sticks,
Maida flout,
Old newspapers,
Fine grit sandpaper,
Colour paints,
Foam cutter,
Hot glue gun.

If you are familiar with drawing, draw your 2D styracosaurus in A3 Sheet in landscape mode.
If you are not familiar with drawing, then print it.

Separate the parts of the neck frill, horn from the body of the drawn A3 sheet.

For the easy DIY purpose, I spilt out the full body into 3 portions that head and neck, body with legs and tail.
Because head & neck, and tail are in the same thickness and body with legs are in different thickness.
So, I split it into 3 portions.

Same as cardboard, do with thermocl.
Here need not trace or cut neck frill and spikes.
Make due, that are in 2 sets of Left and right side.

Trace all the parts from the A3 sheet in cardboard and cut it along.
Make sure, they are in 2 sets of left and right side.
Here need not trace or cut, neck frill and spike.

Fillers are used to staking in-between the left and right side of the body to increase its thickness.

Stick cardboard parts (LEFT & RIGHT) with thermocol parts with help of glue.
In that cardboard, parts are in outside.

Join head & neck, body with leg and tail (3 portions) longitudinally by help of hot glue gun and form styracosaurus.

By using cardboard, draw and cut neck frill and parietal spikes.
Join parietal spikes and neck frill by the toothpick Sticks and form the shape of the neck frill.

Use a Small wooden piece, sharpened one end like a horn.

Use old newspapers, and cut them into 3*5cm pieces to cover up styracosaurus.

To prepare white glue, use Maida flour mixed with water and boil, becomes like a gel, we can use it white glue.
Let's do prepare it.

PROCEDURE:1
Take 100mg of Maida flour in a bowl.
PROCEDURE:2
add some water and mix both well.
PROCEDURE:3
Boil this mixture in a medium flame and continuously stir, becomes a gel state and switch off the flame.
PROCEDURE:4
cool this to 30 mins and ready to use it as white glue.

Apply white gel on styracosaurus over with newspaper pieces and pack full body and neck frill also

Leave this setup to 6hrs in sunny light.

Assemble neck frill in the neck with back support by the help of glue and also horns in the nose area.

Do the same, once again as first packing and cover all over styracosaurus, this cover makes styracosaurus super strong.

Then leave this setup to 6hrs in sunny light.

Use 150 grit (fine) sandpaper to remove excess White glue on the styracosaurus and also make smooth surfaces.

Use water colour or wall paints to colour styracosaurus.

Add eyes, mouth and whatever you want with a freehand draw.

This Instructable includes kids favourite activity of drawing, glueing and colouring. So you can try this with your kids or children and also beginners to DIY try.
