HOUSEHOLD MINI-JACK


How often do you need to lift furniture to vacuum underneath or to retrieve your kid’s toys? Save the strain on your back with this simple, easy to make tool which enables you to jack up a sofa or other furniture with minimal effort.
NOTE: As with any jack, make certain to place a block of wood (Or some books, etc.) under the lifted edge before putting your hands underneath.
Supplies



Materials:
Caulking gun
Appliance anti-tip bracket
2- 1/4X1” bolts with nuts
Rubber furniture floor protector
Peel’n stick felt floor protectors
Epoxy glue
Marker
Tools:
Hacksaw
Drill with step bit
File
Wrench to fit nuts
Vice
MARK, CUT, DRILL



Mark the cut lines as shown on the caulking gun and bracket. Clamp in the vice and carefully cut with a hack saw. Drill the caulking gun through the top edges where shown and drill the bracket to match. File any rough edges to prevent injury from cuts.
ASSEMBLE



Bolt the bracket to the gun using the bolts and nuts. Tighten with the wrench. Glue the non-slip rubber foot to the plunger of the caulking gun. Stick felt floor protectors to the bracket to protect and grip furniture.
LIFTING FURNITURE

Seat the bracket edge under the furniture you want to lift and squeeze the handle repeatedly until the required height is reached. BEFORE YOU PROCEED PUT SOMETHING UNDERNEATH THE LIFTED EDGE IN CASE THE JACK SLIPS. When ready to lower the furniture, squeeze the release lever gently in small increments to let it down slowly.
