HIDDEN KEY IN a BOOK

009.JPG
this instructable is on how to make an easy place to hide a key inside a book.

Materials

001.JPG
you will need:
a book you dont mind cutting into
a key to hide of course
glue stick or liquid glue
sharpie/pencil
utility knife/ exacto knife     (exacto would probably be easier)
dremel (optional) i used one just to make things faster
and an metal rod it really doesnt matter on what it is i used a peice of a allen wrench just makesure it fits thru the key ring hole in the key
**IMPORTANT** if the key doesnt have the hole for a keychain do NOT use the metal rod or else the key wont fit

Outlining the Key

002.JPG
place the key where it is going and use the sharpie to draw a rough outline leaving a space around the key.

Cutting the Key Hole

004.JPG
cut it out using the knife or the dremel and go as deep as u want. also you can leave like the first 10 pages to make it harder to find if someone was looking for it and just opening the book up and not turning pages.

Glueing

glue around the keyhole so that the book apears normal from the outside. this will prevent the key from sliding thru the pages.
also glue the first couple pages tht you didnt cut if you are putting in the metal bar.

Putting in the Bar

take the bar and cut it so it fits inside the book
you can either drill a hole alittle bit in and put it in there or u can hot glue it.
