HDPE Tetrahedron Lamp

Make a shape changing lamp with HDPE milk or juice bottles, christmas rice lights, and small magnets.

Sketch

Draw some sketches.

Get HDPE Bottles

Get at least 10 HDPE milk or juice bottles

Wash the Bottles

Wash each bottle after use to avoid any residue.

Cut Tetrahedrons

Cut 2 tetrahedrons from each bottle as shown in the picture

Assemble a Tetrahedron Module

Use an x-acto knife to cut a rectangular hole in the center of each side.

Cut a triangle that fits as the base of the tetrahedron cut a flange in the center of each side of the triangle. Punch a hole in the center of the triangle to fit the rice lights.Using a drill bit is recommended.

Assemble Tetrahedron Module

Assemble tetrahedron modules inserting the flanges of the triangle inside the rectangular holes.

Add Magnets

Use epoxy adhesive to fix the small metallic magnets to the corners of the triangles.

Put the Lights Inside the Module

Fit the rice lights into the center hole.
