Make a low cost lamp with everyday materials

It is useful to get new ideas

Get HDPE 1/2 Gallon Milk O Juice Bottles

Gather at least 10 HDPE 1/2 Gallon Milk o Juice Bottles.

Wash Your Plastic Bottles

Wash each bottle after use so it doesn't accumulate any residue.

Get a Light

Get a lightbulb (less than 40W), a socket, and a dimmer.

Get White Plastic Zip Ties

Use small white zip ties.

Cut 2 Tetrahedrons From Each Bottle

Cut 2 tetrahedrons from each bottle.

You can use scissors or an x-acto Knife.

Join Together 2 Tetrahedrons With 2 Zip Ties

Join together 2 tetrahedrons with 2 zip ties.

Use 2 zip ties per side.

Cut the remaining of the zip tie tail using tweezers or scissors

Form a Pentagon

Join together 5 tetrahedrons to form a pentagon

Make 3 pentagons

Put Together the Pentagons

Put together the 3 pentagons closing a volume. Fill the gaps with a sequence of tetrahedrons

Add the Light

Make a hole in one o the tetrahedrons and fit the light socket.

Close with zip ties after.

Turn on the Light

Hang your lamp and turn the light on!
