HANDMADE FLOWER VASE

Hi guys ths is my second instructable......n today m going to tell u how to convert yur tea kettle into a nice n beautiful flower vase......i hope u guys like it.

The idea came t me wen i ws cleaning up my kitchen n i saw ths old tea kettle whch v nevr touched......i had some of my paper mache left frm my last instructable so i thought y nt turn ths tea kettle into sumthng useful...

1. paper mache
   
2. tea kettle
3. paints
4. paint brush
5. sand paper
6. white glue
7. 2 paper cups
8. n glitterrrrr

To convert tea kettle into vase u need paper mache.....the paper mache recipe is given in the easter egg basket instructable..........first u need to cut the handle of the kettle.........my kettle looked sumthng like the one above.....u need to cover it with the paper mache evenly......u cn give it shape as u like u cn add patterns as well but i like it simple......once u have covered the kettle let it dry for 24 hrs.

To prepare yur vase fr painting u need to sand it. It shud b smooth eough so tat the paint spreads easily.

Now to paint yur vase choose any color u want to. Let the paint dry. I used acrylic paint u cn use oil pastels as well.

Nw in a paper cup take some white glue n mix it with a lil water so tat the glue becomes liquidy bt nt too liquidy(remember to use nice quality glue i use fevicol u cn use any gud quality glue available in yur country). In he other cup take some glitter.....nw with the help of a paint brush spread the glue n water mixture on the vase...nw start sprinkling the glitter on the vase, shake off the extra glitter...agn allow it to dry.................agn u guys must b thinking there is so much waiting n waiting n waiting bt its worth it :)

Once yur glitter is dry....v r all set to secure it so tat its easy t clean afterwards. Nw u have two options:

1. U can use the same water-glue mixture to secure it, or
2. U can use clear varnish

I used varnish bcuz it was available at home ....u cn use either of them its its almost same.

You hav made yur own flower vase yuuuuhuuuuuu............nw to complete the look i found some old artificial orange roses which i gave a lil bit makeover..........i glittered(i dnt thnk its a word) them up as well.......the vase n flowers compliment each other perfectly.....so guys go on find an old dust eating never to be used again kettle n convert it into a beautiful vase :) :) :) :)
