Grocery Bag Dispenser

IMG_2976.jpg

I used to hang my many grocery store plastic bags wadded up in a single plastic bag and it hung in my coat closet. Those bags do have their uses so I keep the ones I get. They can be used again when I go to the store, and they make great bags for disposing of our dogs' poops in our yard and when we take them for a walk. The bag of bags was an eye sore in the closet, so I came up with this idea of another way to store the bags. Here is a quick and easy solution that you just might like for storing your grocery store bags!

What You Need

The only items you need for this project are an empty tissue box and a piece of tape. Very easy-peasy! Also pictured here are some of my of plastic bags.

Fold Each Bag

Start by folding the sides of a plastic bag so it will fit in the tissue box.

Fold It Some More

Fold the bag up and over, roughly measuring so the bag will fit into the tissue box. I like the handles of the bag to be on the top.

Fold More Bags

Fold as many bags as you would like to fit into the tissue box and make a stack of them.

Open It

Pull the flaps of one end of the box open.

Into the Box

Put the stack of bags into the open end of the box.

Tape It

Cut off a piece of tape and press it onto the open end of the box to seal it.

It's Finished!

And there you have my unusual use for a tissue box! Very quickly, you can make a plastic bag dispenser out of it! Plus it is always good to recycle and reuse something that you would have thrown away. I still store my bags in that closet, but now they are neatly stored in a box! You could also keep one of these in your car just in case you need a plastic bag when you are away from home. This was such an easy project that anyone can do. I hope you enjoyed it!!!
