This simple 3D-printed adapter lets you grind directly into your portafilter—no mess, no extra steps, just fresh coffee, fast. In this quick guide, I’ll show you how to make and use this adapter to upgrade your coffee routine. Let’s get started!
Supplies

Gather Your Materials
What You’ll Need:
- A handheld coffee grinder
- A 54mm portafilter (or your specific size)
- 3D printer or access to one
- The included files (STL files are at the bottom of this step, Design files are in step 1)
- Basic tools: screwdriver, calipers (optional for measuring modifications)
IMPORTANT: This specific design uses the Alpaca Grinder from Amazon and the stock 54mm Portafilter from Breville
If you plan on using something different look at step 1.

Customize for Your Setup (Optional)
The design is fully customizable to fit different grinders and portafilter sizes.
- Measure the diameter of your portafilter and grinder output.
- Modify the STL files in Fusion 360 (or similar CAD software) to match your setup.
- Ensure the adapter screws securely onto your grinder and aligns perfectly with your portafilter.
