British Fruit Cake (Great Grannies)



This is my great grannies recipe for a tasty Fruit Cake.
Ingredients and Utensils


Ingredients
- 8oz (230 grams) plain flour
- 7oz (200 grams) soft brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 8oz (230 grams) seedless raisins or (mixed fruit)
- 1 level teaspoon backing powder
- 6oz (170 grams) soft margarine
- 1 table spoon milk
- 8in cake tin
- Mixing bowl
- Sieve
- Set of scales
- Backing paper (lining paper)
Preparing the Cake Tin

To prepare the cake tin rub some butter around the tin and line with the backing paper (lining paper)
I find it helps to use two pieces of paper one for the bottom and one for the sides

Cake Instructions








Now for the cake mix
- Sift the flour and backing powder in a large mixing bowl
- then mix in the fruit
- In a different bowl cream the margarine with sugar
- Add eggs one at a time and mix
- Then poor the milk in
- Then gradually add to the flour mixture
- Mix it all together
- Then poor it in to your Prepared cake tin
- Bake in centre of oven at 325f or gas mark 2 for 3hr
