Grandma's Christmas Sugar Cookies

584b3e6b8ae43bdd9300027d.jpeg

For the Christmas season, sugar cookies are one of the most popular desserts to bake. This recipe was one my grandma used to make; it is slightly different from other sugar cookies because it uses powdered sugar, anise, and baking soda. It has a perfect texture, and the dough has perfect consistency for rolling out on a floured surface. Enjoy!

Chill in fridge for 10 minutes in bowl. Then Place dough on a floured surface and roll dough out till thin enough for cookies. Use your own cookie cutters and cut out your own shapes. Place them on an ungreased baking sheet and place in preheated oven (350 degrees). Bake for 8 minutes, or until cookies are starting to brown.

Choose your favorite recipe for sugar cookie frosting. I made this especially good one from Food.com: Sugar Cookie Frosting.

Spread on your cookies and optionally sprinkle sprinkles.
