This project is based off of Hot Wheels. It's about 3-D printed race cars and you race on a 3-D printed race track.

Track

Part 1 - Make a rectangular prism with the dimensions of 5mm x 210mm x 60mm (H x L x W)

Part 2 - Add a workplane on top of this prism. Then add 2 more rectangular prisms with the dimensions of 8mm x 210 x 5 mm (H x L x W). Then align these prisms to the 2 long sides of the rectangular prism that was created in Part 1. Then align both prisms to be centered on the sides measuring 210mm of the prism made in Part 1. Group all objects together.

Banner Holder

Add a workplane on either prism that was created in Part 2 of Step 1. Create 2 rectangular prism holes with the dimensions of 10mm x 4mm x 4mm (H x L x W). Turn your screen so the combined prisms from "Track" is facing toward you (long sides on the right and left, and the short sides in front and back). Then place each prism 0.5mm from the right and left side. Then place them both 3mm from the front side. Lower both boxes 6mm. Group all objects together.

Track Connecting Mechanism (Slot)

Part 1 - Add a workplane on the top of the prism created in Part 1 of Step 1. Make a rectangular prism hole with the dimensions of 20mm x 30mm x 20mm (H x L x W). Align it with the middle of the object that was combined in the previous step, then, move it to the front of the object. Raise or lower the prism 2.5mm below the workplane. Group all objects.

Part 2 - Add a workplane on top of the groove created by the hole created in Part 1 of "Track Connecting Mechanism (Slot)". Make 2 rectangular prism holes with the dimensions of 20mm x 7mm x 7mm (H x L x W). Center them both on the combined object created in the previous steps, then bring them to the front. Move both prisms 5mm towards the back of the combined object created in the previous steps. Then move one of the prisms 7mm to the right, and the other 7mm to the left. Lower both prisms 2.5mm. Group all objects. This whole combined object will be referred as "Track 2"

Track Connecting Mechanism (Input)

Part 1 - Make a rectangular prism with the dimensions of 2.5mm x 30mm x 20mm (H x L x W). Raise the prism 2.5mm. Do not group any objects for easier accessibility in the next step. This will be referred as "Roof" in further steps.

Part 2 - Reset the workplane. Create 2 rectangular prisms with the dimensions of 2.5mm x 6mm x 6mm (H x L x W). Align both prisms to the edge of "Roof" measuring 30mm (doesn't matter which of the 2, as long as the prisms are on the same side). Then align them to the center of that side. Move both prisms to the other side measuring 30mm, 5.5mm. Move one of the prisms toward one of the sides of "Roof" measuring 20mm, 7mm, move the other prism to the other side measuring 20mm, 7mm. Group the 2 prisms and "Roof".

Part 3 - Align the combined object (2 prisms and "Roof")to the outer-side of "Track 2" (refer to Step 3) that is the opposite edge to the "Track Connecting Mechanism (Slot)". Then align the combined object (2 prisms and "Roof") in the center between the 2 sides of "Track 2" measuring 210mm. Group all objects.

Bottom of Track

Part 1 - Make a cylinder with the dimensions of 5mm x 120mm x 120mm (H x L x W)

Part 2 - Make a rectangular prism hole with the dimensions of 5mm x 120mm x 60mm (H x L x W). Align with the side of the cylinder made in Part 1 and group.

Part 3 - Make another rectangular prism hole with the dimensions of 5mm x 60mm x 60mm (H x L x W). Align with the side of the semi cylinder made in Part 2 and group.

Part 4 - Make 2 rectangular prisms with the dimension of 5mm x 60mm x 60mm (H x L x W). Align each to each of the flat sides of the quarter-circle made in Part 3 and group.

Track Rails

Part 1 - Add a workplane on top of the "Bottom of Track". Face the front of the track (where the track turns right, if left turn piece, where it turns left). Make a rectangular prism with the dimensions of 8mm x 5mm x 60mm (H x L x W). Align with the bottom left corner of the "Bottom of Track". Duplicate and move 55mm to the right. Group all objects.

Part 2 - Face the right side of the track (where the track turns left, if left turn piece, where it turns right). Make a rectangular prism with the dimensions of 8mm x 5mm x 60mm (H x L x W). Align with the bottom right corner of the "Bottom of Track". Duplicate and move 55mm to the left. Group all objects. Make a cube with the dimensions of 5mm (H x L x W) Align them in the corner between the 2 inner rails (refer to the orange cube in picture "Step 2 - Part 4"). Group all objects. This combined object will be referred as "Track Rail".

Part 3 - Make a cylinder with the dimensions of 8mm x 120mm x 120mm (H x L x W). Then align to the middle of "Track Rail".

Part 4 - Duplicate and make the new cylinder a hole. Then face the front (where the track turns right, if left turn piece, where it turns left). Move this cylinder hole 5 units to the right and 5 units down (essentially bringing it closer to the bottom right corner). Rotate the cylinder hole -45 degrees (rotate it in the direction where the cylinder will stay flat, or parallel to the workplane. Tinkercad has a weird bug when rotating circles, it will alter the size, so change the width and length to 120mm and the height to 5mm. Group this cylinder hole to the cylinder made in Part 3 of "Track Rails". Group all objects.

Part 5 - Remove any excess parts of the combined cylinder made in Part 4 of "Track Rails" by combing rectangular prism holes to the combined object from Part 4 of "Track Rails". For further guidelines view the image titled "Step 2 - Part 8.png". Group all objects. This will be referred to as "Completed Track"

Right Turn Piece (If Left, Mirror Steps) Pt 3

Track Connecting Mechanism (Slot)

Part 1 - Face the front of the track (where the track turns right, if left turn piece, where it turns left). Make a rectangular prism hole with the dimensions of 20mm x 30mm x 20mm (H x L x W). Align it with the middle and front of the rectangular prism closer to you made in Part 4 of Step 5. Lower the prism 2.5mm below the workplane. Group all objects.

Part 2 - Add a workplane on top of the groove created by the hole created in Part 1. Make 2 rectangular prism holes with the dimensions of 20mm x 7mm x 7mm (H x L x W). Center them both on the groove created by the hole created in Part 1 of "Track Connecting Mechanism (Slot)", then bring them to the front. Move both prisms 5mm towards the back (while facing the front). Then move one of the prisms 7mm to the right, and the other 7mm to the left. Lower both prisms 2.5mm. Group all objects. This whole combined object will be referred as "Track 2"

Part 3 - Align the combined object (2 prisms and "Roof")to the outer-side of "Track 2" (refer to Step 3) that is the opposite edge to the "Track Connecting Mechanism (Slot)". Then align the combined object (2 prisms and "Roof") in the center between the 2 sides of "Track 2" measuring 210mm. Group all objects.

Make 2 rectangular prism holes with the dimensions of 20mm x 7mm x 7mm (H x L x W). Center them both on the combined object created in the previous steps, then bring them to the front. Move both prisms 5mm towards the back of the combined object created in the previous steps. Then move one of the prisms 7mm to the right, and the other 7mm to the left. Lower both prisms 3mm. Group all objects. This whole combined object will be referred as "Track 2"

Track Connecting Mechanism (Input)

Part 1 - Make a rectangular prism with the dimensions of 1mm x 30mm x 20mm (H x L x W). Raise the prism 4mm. Do not group any objects for easier accessibility in the next step. This will be referred as "Roof" in further steps.

Part 2 - Make a temporary cube with a height of 1mm, then add a workplane on this cube and delete the cube. Create 2 rectangular prisms with the dimensions of 3mm x 6.5mm x 6.5mm (H x L x W). Align both prisms to the edge of "Roof" measuring 30mm (doesn't matter which of the 2, as long as the prisms are on the same side). Move both prisms to the other side measuring 30mm, 5mm. Move one of the prisms toward one of the sides of "Roof" measuring 20mm, 7mm, move the other prism to the other side measuring 20mm, 7mm. Group the 2 prisms and "Roof".

Part 3 - Align the combined object (2 prisms and "Roof") to the outer-side of "Track 2" that is the opposite edge to the "Track Connecting Mechanism (Slot)". Then align the combined object (2 prisms and "Roof") in the center between the 2 sides of "Track 2" measuring 210mm. Group all objects.

Extra Straight Track

Step 4 - Part 1.png

Make another straight track like you made in Step 3. However, this time make the track 150mm long, not 210mm. Keep the Track Connecting Mechanism (Slot) and (Input) the same size. Only alter the bottom of the track and rail length.

Part 1 - Create a rectangular prism with the dimensions of 80mm x 3.50mm x 3.50mm (H x L x W)

Part 2 - Duplicate the prism and move it 55mm to the right. Group the prisms

Part 3 - Add a workplane on top of one of the prisms. Create another rectangular prism with the dimensions of 30mm x 58.50mm x 3.50mm (H x L x W).

Part 4 - Align to the middle of the combined prisms and leave it leveled with the workplane. Group all objects.
