Glow in the Dark Guy Lines (camping)
Hi,
In this instructable I'm going to show you how to make your guylines more visible in the dark.
This is a really simple Instructable with the longest part being letting the guylines dry.
Unfortunately, i cant show you them in action because my only camera is my iphone which wont pick up the glowing action :(
What You Need
Some glow in the dark paint
Guylines (lighter colours are best)
a container of some sort to hold the paint
optional: rubber gloves
Getting It Done
Step 1
Remove the guy lines from your tent and remove the small plastic bits from the guy lines.
Step 2
empty some paint into your container
Step 3
Put your guy lines into the paint. you can do this one at a time or all at once. doing it all at once does run the risk of making the guy lines a bit more difficult to get out as they might tangle slightly. once in give them a mix about to make sure they are entirely covered.
let them soak for a bit.
Step 4
This is the part you might want gloves for but if like me you don't mind getting messy take one end of the guy line and run it through your fore finger and thumb to remove the excess paint.
put them aside and leave them to dry
Step 5
Reattach the plastic bits and reattach them to your tent.
Done
Notes
A few things.
The paint in the guy lines will not last all night but will glow brightly when charged by a good blast of sunlight.
The paint Isn't water proof so if you are camping in the rain you may want to top up on the paint again.
When camping at a festival even with brightly colored glowing guy lines a drunk person will still manage to fall over them :\
Enjoy :)
