Glow in the Dark - Flying Dragon

Dragón en impresión 3D - 3D printed dragon

I have always felt a great fascination for dragons and in this case, I wanted to have an artistic approach to tinkercad, drawing freely and creating this dragon that moves its wings simulating that flies. This dragon was printed with glow-in-the-dark filament.

Supplies

I started by drawing one wing with tinkercad with the "scribble" option and then I chose it to be aprox 3 mm tall.

Then I did the same for the body, the drop and the hanger.

I printed the wing x 2 and then the other parts (just one time each)

Joining the Wings

To join the wings, I bent the wire in such a way that it created some kind of tube and an axis that facilitated the wing's movement. (This can be better understood in the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ref_wkZoaGg&ab_channel=ElVuelodelArte - minute 6:18)

To hang the dragon it is necessary to attach the wings to the hanger with nylon

For the dragon to move as if it were flying, it is important to find a good balance, where the wings remain horizontal. For this, what I did was to try with a different number of beads to add weight in the center until it achieved the right balance.

Now you just have to pull the drop for the dragon to fly 😊
