Giant Spaghetti Stuffed Meatball
...A true masterpiece. This recipe is made from ingredients you should already have in you fridge and is relatively easy to make. The prep time is approximately 30 minutes while the cook time is 35-40 minutes. You could easily replace the ground turkey with ground beef, but why not get into the Thanksgiving spirit? What are you waiting for? Let’s get cooking!!!
Prepare the Pasta
Basically the first step in any recipe that has pasta. Boil your water...bubble bubble. Then plop your spaghetti in. Once the pasta is done, drain the water, toss it back into the pot, and dump the spaghetti sauce in (you guys should know how to make spaghetti by now ; ) Make sure you save a cup of spaghetti sauce for the topping!
Prepare the Turkey
Defrost your turkey, or whatever meat you’re using. Plop it into a large mixing bowl.
Chop the Veggies
You gotta make this recipe a little healthy at least...right? Mince about 2 cups worth of spinach and half of a large onion. Add it to the turkey.
You can also preheat the oven to 400 degrees at this step (use the convection setting if you have it).
Spices, Worcestershire, and Bread Crumbs
Add 3 tbs of garlic powder, 2 tbs of chili powder, 2 tbs of pepper, 2 tbs of salt, 1 tbs of oregano, 1/8 cup of Worcestershire sauce, and 2 1/2 cups of bread crumbs.
Mix!
Mix up all the ingredients. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty! Make sure that it’s all equally incorporated.
Shape the Turkey
Coat a large bowl with plastic wrap and start shaping the turkey around the bowl. The layer of turkey should be about 3/4 inches thick. Keep in mind that if it is not thick enough, it will split while shaping. Also, the layers should should come up pretty high so it can wrap over and cover the spaghetti.
Add the Spaghetti
Scoop a hefty portion of spaghetti into the middle of the bowl (the excess turkey should be able to wrap over the top of the turkey to fork the ball). Optional: add mozzarella cheese before sealing up the ball. Once everything is in place, use the plastic wrap to shape the excess meat over the spaghetti and into the shape of a ball.
Throw in the Oven!
Put the meatball into the oven and let it cook. It should take 35-40 minutes based on your oven. When there are 5 minutes left, take it out, pour the extra sauce on, and sprinkle some cheese on top...YUM!
Dig In!
Enjoy your well earned break...
