This is a giant LED(replica of a 5mm LED) made purposely for fun. It looks exactly the same as an original LED.

Let's talk about the build process in detail.

Making the Pins

To make the pins, I took some tooth picks and passed a wire in between few tooth picks and taped it.

Then to give the look, I wrapped aluminum foil around the tooth picks and secured it with some transparent cello tape.

Making the LED Stucture

To make the structure of the LED I used a plastic bottle. I used an utility knife cut the bottle in two pieces on for the top part and the other for the base.

The small bulb will enter the bottle top.

Now I attached the pins of the LED(that I previously made) to the LED base using hot glue. I also made some designs on the pins to make it look real.

Making the LED Body White

To make the LED body look white, first I taped the plastic bottle with some masking tape.

For better look later I applied white Fabric paint on the masking tape.

Attached the Bulb to the Holder and Seal the Body

After the structural part is ready, I added the holder to the wires and attached the bulb to it.

Finally our Giant LED is ready.
