Preheat oven to 375° F.

Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add red food coloring for a pink tint in the cookie. Gradually beat in flour mixture and stir in chocolate chips.

Use the paper from the box of chocolates to trace a heart on parchment paper. If you only have small cookie sheets you will have to cut the heart in half and bake 2 separate pieces. Scoop your cookie dough onto the parchment paper leaving about 1 inch between the dough and your heart outline. Cover with parchment paper and press out the shape. Line your box with parchment paper and glue it in place.

Baking

Bake your cookie shapes in a preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes. When you remove the cookies from the oven immediately trim the edges to have smooth sides. This needs to be done when the cookie is very soft or you will have problems cutting it. Wait until your cookie pieces are completely cooled and then gently slide them into the chocolate box.

When I decorated my cookie I used the cookie icing as glue to stick on the chocolate chips. I put layers of sparkle gel and cookie icing. I drew the designs on with Betty Crocker Easy Writer Food Decorators.
