Giant Cake Cookie
I never knew you could make other things with a cake mix other than cake, then I was told by a friend about cake cookies, turns out there was a recipe on the cake mix package for them. The setting for this awesomeness was my dad's birthday, I was wondering what I could make for him besides a cake, and since he loves cookies this seemed perfect. I was actually going to buy one of these from Mrs. Fields , but after seeing how much they cost I decided to try and make my own.
So this is my version of a cake cookie, enjoy! =]
Basic cake cookies: 1 Package Cake Mix, 1/3 Cup Water, 1/4 Cup Oil, and 1 Egg. In which you would drop balls a couple of inches apart and bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes, these taste great with a chocolate, red velvet, or really any kind of cake.
To make the large pie version I show here, you just mix all the ingredients you want to add really well in a large bowl, then place all the dough in a single dish that's been floured and bake, it's about 25 minutes at 350°.
I added puffed cereal, chocolate chips, marshmallows, and drizzled with honey before baking. Just a heads up if you plan to use cereal, you'll need to serve it the same day, as it tends to become cardboard like a couple of days later.
