Decorating my lego tree for Halloween Part 2

Turn your giant LEGO-inspired tree or wreath into a spooky Halloween centrepiece with these oversized 3D printed LEGO-style decorations!

I’ve scaled up classic LEGO elements and given them a Halloween twist β€” from glowing pumpkins to magic wands β€” all designed to clip perfectly onto my Giant LEGO Christmas Tree and Giant LEGO Wreath.

Supplies

Decorating my Lego Tree for Halloween!

You’ll need:

  1. 3D printer: Prusa MK4 or Prusa Core 1 (other printers with similar build volumes work too)
  2. Filament:
  3. PETG or PLA in Halloween colours β€” orange, black, white, purple
  4. Transparent Prusament PETG for the light-up decorations (perfect diffusion for LEDs!)
  5. Superglue or epoxy (for assembling multi-part prints)
  6. Optional: LED tealights or battery fairy lights

Files and Models

Set includes:

  1. Pumpkin Lantern – hollow inside for lighting
  2. Magic Wand – fits the tree or can be handheld
  3. Ghost Tile, Spider Plate, Mini Bat
  4. LEGO-Style Skull Brick and Halloween Disc

All designs match the scale and stud system from my previous builds:

πŸͺ„ Print Your Pieces

I printed these using a Prusa MK4 and Prusa Core 1, both great for handling larger builds.

Suggested settings:

  1. Layer height: 0.2 mm
  2. Infill: 15–20% (go higher for outdoor pieces)
  3. Supports: None needed for most models
  4. Material: PLA or PETG
  5. Use transparent Prusament PETG for the light-up parts β€” it diffuses light beautifully!

Multiple coloured parts or ones that need LEDs (like the pumpkin and wand) are printed in multiple parts. Once printed, glue together with superglue or gloop.

πŸ•―οΈ Add Lighting (Optional)

For the Pumpkin Lantern and Wand, you can add small LED tealights or battery fairy lights inside.

Tips for lighting:

  1. Print in transparent or light-coloured filament for best glow.
  2. The battery holder should slot into the side of the piece
  3. Insert the innards of remote tea lights so you can easily switch on and off
  4. play around with different coloured LEDs and ones that flicker.

Their are two models of wand that light up- one comparable with the tree and one that you can just hold.

πŸͺœ Mount on the Tree or Wreath

Decorating my lego tree for Halloween Part 2

All decorations use the same connection points as the Giant LEGO Tree and Wreath.

To attach:

  1. For the tree: push-fit onto the studs
  2. For the wreath: I found this (attached) piece very useful to connect the bat and skeleton head (it does need to be glued to stop movement)

Outdoor display? Remember to print in PETG to withstand the weather

πŸ‘» Mix, Match & Expand!

Because they’re modular, you can easily mix these decorations with your existing Christmas or summer sets.

For my Halloween tree I printed some candles (from the original tree) in purple and some orange, black and purple stars from the original Christmas Tree.

You can also scale them even bigger, Ive printed a giant pumpkin for under my tree!
