German Spaetzles
German Spaetzles is a homemade pasta dish from Germany that my grandma has learned to make while stationed over there and has become a family favorite. It is a very simple and very good recipe that I would like to share with everyone to peak their interest in making it!
Supplies
- Chuck Roast
- 6 eggs Eggs
- 4 cups of Flour
- Cavender's Seasoning
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
- Garlic Salt
- beef bullion
- Brown Gravy Mix
Cut your chuck roast into decent bite size chunks then brown in a stew pot with desired seasonings. I personally use cavendars, and garlic salt.
Add water to your stock pot and beef bullion to desired taste to make a broth and bring to a boil.
While waiting for water to boil, start making your pasta mix. Pour your flour into a bowl and add eggs to make a thick consistency batter. (You may need to add more eggs or more flour to the mix to make it the right consistency.
After mixture is completed grab your speatzle maker and hold over boiling pot then add your pasta mixture and squeeze into the liquid.
Leave pasta mixture in the water for 5 to 10 minutes and then pull out and set aside in a bowl. Continue step 4 and 5 until all your mixture is gone.
After all the noodles and meat is out of the liquid and set aside, grab your brown gravy mix or cornstartch to thicken the liquid to a gravy consistency. After you have made the gravy you put the dish together and serve.
Enjoy!!
