This project was inspired by reading the research publication Digital Entanglements: Craft, Computation and Collaboration in Fine Art Furniture Production

This paper describes Wendell Castle's design process as starting with sketches, then moving from sketches to scaled down models using layers of foam. This inspired me to explore some creative sculpting using flat styrofoam sheets that had arrived at my quarantine home as packing materials for a dining room table.

The form and title of this sculpture are inspired by my journey through the Grand Canyon in December 2018.

RIP Wendell Castle
