Gas Bottle Ball Grill

I got handed over a old gas bottle from a friend. I noticed that this is not a returnable bottle, so what to do with it.

Of course, I've build a ball grill, to lean welding again.

Splitting Up the Bottle and Drill Some Holes

Make sure that the bottle is absolutely empty, you will learn that quickly.

With a grinder, cut open the bottle in a high you prefer.

Also drill holes in the bottom to increase the ventilation.

Add a Base and a Coal Tray

For even better ventilation of the coal, I added a tray, build out of a speaker grid, which rest on the base, build out of a threaded rod. To fix the rod to the bottle, I've welded a nut to the bottom and drilled a hole in the bottle.

As I mentioned, I wanted to train my welding skills. It looks nasty but works well.
