Garbage Bag Glider
This is something fun to do with smaller kids. It is cool to see if it works. Building the glider does not take long. If it can't carry humans paint it and make it a kite. If you want the materials back it is relatively easy to take apart. Experiment with different materials and see which works best. Have fun and enjoy!
Supplies
3 garbage bags
toy building sticks?
tape
ribbon
Get the Garbage Bags Ready
Arrange the garbage bags to have one on top and 2 on the bottom. So in a triangle like formation. Tape them all together. Here is where you can experiment with the materials based on what you have. A tarp makes a great substitute.
Cut the Garbage Bags to Be a Triangle
Start from the bottom left corner and cut to the top. Then work your way to the bottom right corner. You should end up with a triangle.
P.s. I used safety scissors and kitchen scissors did not work.
Creating the Base
Tape on the toy building sticks or whatever you are using. Arrange the sticks in rectangles and squares.
Making the Handle
Get three sticks. Make an open square and attach to the point of the glider. Make sure to secure it properly.
Attach Ribbon to the Back of the Glider
This will allow the ground team to control the glider. If its a kite this is how you control it.
Attach Harness
Using the scraps from the bags to create a belt. Twist 2 scraps together and attach to the glider.
Now Your Done
Go outside when it's windy and try it out. Have fun!
