GOPRO 360 Mount

IMG_1552.JPG

This is my first Instructable so please excuse any errors, but other than that, this is a fun easy build that is sure to give you some cool camera angles when you are skiing ect. If you have any questions or comments you can leave them in the comments section and I will try to answer them ASAP

Materials

To complet this project you need a few basic materials that can be found at your hardware store and you probably will already have the rest i.e. helmut, and the rest will come with your GOPRO camera

1. Zip-ties (a handfull will do)

2. P.V.C pipe (5ft give or take)

3. Swivel Caster (you only need one and if you are buying it make sure it has a bolt holding on the wheel if not just find a way to take the wheel out [I used a hack saw and it worked quite well])

4. Hose Clamp (any size as long as it will fit around your pipe and GOPRO mount)

5. GOPRO Mount (one should have come with your camera any way)

6. Some Kind Of Counter Weight (I used a BMX trick peg)

Tools

_MG_1515.JPG

This project uses only basic hand tools and most people will already have them

1. Power Drill

2. Bits For The Drill

3. Hack Saw or Pipe Cutter

4. Flat Head Screw Driver

5. Measuring Tape

6. Side Cutters or Scissors

Cut Pipe to Size

_MG_1523.JPG

Use your hacksaw or pipe cutter to cut the pipe to size I found that 5ft works well be careful and make sure there is adequate adult supervision.

Drill Hole

_MG_1528.JPG

Find the centre or near and drill be careful and this should be done only by someone who is comfortable with the use of power tools. (I found that it is better to have a little more pipe on the GOPRO side)

Attach the Caster

_MG_1533.JPG

First start by removing the wheel from the caster and then attach through the vent holes. (make sure the buckles are off to the side or they will interfere with the motion of the caster)

Attach the GOPRO Mount to the Pipe

_MG_1542.JPG

Wrap the hose clamp around the mount and the pipe, tighten with your flathead screwdriver. Take your time to make sure this is straight because you don't want tilted footage. (This could also be accomplished using electrical tape)

Attach the Pipe to the Caster

_MG_1539.JPG

Feed two zip ties through the hole in the caster for the axle and then through the hole you drilled in the pipe and through the other hole for the axle, tighten until snug

Add Counter Weights

I used a trick peg and attached it with masking tape, but any thing from ankle weights to Vice-Grips will work just keep in mind that this will be swinging around your head so you might want something soft yet heavy.

Final Product

I hope that you had as much fun making this as I did and if you have any questions just wright them in the comments and I will get back to you ASAP
