GB-1E ("Gabbie") is a very small prototype droid developed during the Clone Wars for reconnaissance without the risk of signal interception. It avoids using antennas and instead has a "speed configuration" to transport information as fast as possible without the risk of hacking. Few were made because some of the droids seemed to develop too much... emotion. However, even though the program was scrapped during the war, a few prototypes seemed to find their way to a variety of new owners. Some of those owners even think of the droid as a friend... or a collectors item.

On a personal note: I really enjoyed getting to design this droid and it went from a love/hate relationship to a friend (that I could go without seeing for a little while). I knew that I wanted the droid to be centered in the Clone Wars because growing up, that show meant the world to me and it's my favorite Star Wars era. I have used Fusion for a few years but in competitive robotics, function comes before form, so I had to change my designing strategies a little bit and learned a lot in the process, but I was also able to draw inspiration from my background with things like the non-parallel four-bar legs and how the whole thing should be able to be 3d printed and assembled (have not tested yet). Overall, it's been a great opportunity to participate in something that is the intersection of my biggest passions, and I hope at least one person thinks that this droid is at least okay. Have a great day!
