Fun Giftable Whimsical Flowers!
These Whimsical flowers are so fun and easy to make! and the materials most artist or crafters have around the house! I have made over 1,000 of these! I also sold them online and raised over 2000 dollars for 2 charities! but enough about me, lets get started!
Supplies
Here are the things you will need to make one flower:
- 5 pieces of 3in.x3in. paper of any color or from out of the recycling!
- Hot glue gun (you should get one if you don't have one they are extremely useful!)
- about 1-2 hot glue sticks
- a piece of any kind of wire (I used cheep paper wrapped floral wire for my stems)
- a button or some kind of topper. (if you can't find anything a small lego, a button from an old stained shirt and other things like that will work.)
- a paper cutter (or scissors and a ruler)
Cut Your Paper
for this step all you have to do is cut any kind of paper into three inch squares! I use a paper cutter off amazon but they have the same kind at Michaels. there is no big open blade which makes it safer to cut your paper!
Fold Your Paper
this step is a little tricky to describe, if you look at the pictures above you can see how to fold the paper. also it is the same method that is used in making a paper ornament. You will have to repeat this 5 times.
Glue Your Pedals
glue your pedals with hot glue along the dotted line in the photos. Then fold it together symmetrically as shown in the photos above. And repeat on all 5 pedals.
Glue the Pedals Into Place
you might have noticed I changed the colors of the pedals in this photo, this is because I have the pictures from an old instructable that used red paper. so these are new photos.
anyways, for this step you will need to hot glue 4 of your pedals together wait for it to dry. Then put in a length of any kind of wire that is about 6-8 inches long. then put in your last pedal. follow the pictures at the top.
Add Your Topper!
Glue your button/topper in the middle of the flower. Trust me this will really tie the piece together!
Enjoy & Gift
enjoy these flowers and make lots of them for your friends and family! They are good gifts for people who have everything, I bet they don't have handmade paper flowers!
