Frosted Frames
These frosted frames are a hit in my family and make great gifts.
If you buy everything new, this project costs about $6 from the Dollar store. But, most of the materials are probably already in your house.

The Frame
Dismantle the frame.
Set aside all the other pieces except the glass.

The Words
Using your masking tape, sketch out the words or pictures you would like to be the focus of your frame. It will act as a sort of stencil.
You can use a mirror to help you with drawing backwards but in this case I just kept turning it over to look at it and make sure it was how I liked it.
*Masking tape is perfect for this because it's easily manipulated. It is easy to tear to make shapes and is easily moved after it was stuck down. So you can arrange it a few times until you get the picture you want.

Using the Adhesive
It's advised to use spray adhesive in a well ventilated area so, I took the glass piece, and the cup of epsom salt outside.
With the taped side up, spray the entire surface with the adhesive.
Then sprinkle the Epsom salt all over it. (Like you would glitter on glue)
Because I dont want the tape to stick forever, I used the directions for a temporary hold. The adhesive I used said to let it set for 3 minutes.*Follow the instructions for the spray adhesive you have for a temporary hold*

Design Reveal
Next, pour off all the excess epsom salt.
Then carefully peel off the tape.
Your design should now appear in the Epsom salt!
Set it aside and allow to dry completely.

Shimmer and Shine
To make the background look cold and the lights reflect, simply tape a piece of aluminum foil (or shiny wrapping paper) to the back piece of the frame.
Tear a piece of foil a little bigger than the frame backing, and then tape it on.(Here's where your super glue could come in handy if you don't want to tape it) I didn't worry about how it looked because it's on the back.

Lights!
Next, tape the lights near the edges of the aluminum foil piece. Try to arrange it so the cord hangs down at the bottom.
Assemble!
1)Lay the frame face down
2)Place the glass picture inside the frame.
3)Put the light board on so the lights are inside.
Close the notches of the frame.
Chances are, the lights will keep it from fitting in perfectly. No worries, just tape it up! Gotta love that masking tape :)

Enjoy!
Plug it in or turn on the battery pack and look at the pretty frosted frame you just made!
Go Crazy!
If you're anything like me, now that you have the basics, you'll go crazy with these. Change it up and do whatever designs you want- add glue wherever you want, and even add embellishments!
For the snowman frame, I colored the tape and frame with a gold marker so it looks like a window. Super Glue and epsom salt are only around the edges for the frost. I cut the snowman out of construction paper :)
If you make this please share the pictures. I'd love to see what you come up with!
