From 2d to 3d - Making a Rocket in 3 Different Ways
This is the last part of a series of instructables that aim to help explain how you can use beads to prepare kids for learning how to work with 3d-printing. In this instructable we will recreat the same methods as we used with the beads, but now we are doing it using 3d-printing. This helps the kids to see the similarities betwen the process and use the knowledge that they have gained from working with beads.
Before working on these models you might want to have the kids make a few slapons. Slapons are just flat 3d-prints that can be used as a kindd of stickers. You can find the guide to them here.

Tools:
Computer
3D printer

Slicing program
Tinkercad
Supplies:
Filament for the printer
Glue
How to Make a Simple Standing Figure
Making a standing figure is really easy. First you make a simple figure, just like when you make a slapon, but make it slightly thicker. Then make 2 feets and print them out. Then you can connect them.
You can finde the design for this model below.
For an example of how to do it with beads look at this instructable.
Combin 2 2D Models to Make a Semi 3D-model
This is also a relative simple. You now make 2 simple 2D models of the subject that you want to make. Each looking at it from a different angle. Then make a small open slide in each, so that the two models can be slide into each other.
Print them. Slide them into each other. Give them a bit of glue so they don't break.
You can finde the design for this model below.

Make a Semi-3D Model
Now you can take the 2 models you made in the last step and connect them with each other in the 3D program. That way you can print it directly with no need to slide and connect or to use glue,
You can finde the design for this model below.
Now the next step is to try and make a true 3D model.
