Frog Thumper Cigar Box Guitar
This is the 1st six string CBG I made. It looks pretty good but the functionality is a little to be desired. I didn't use any overlay wood for the neck therefore the strings are too far from the neck to play it properly. I can be used as a lap slide guitar but I have decided to use it as a display. I used the back of the box as the front of the guitar because I wanted to use my wooden frog cut out. It is also the first six string I attempted to make. Like I said, it turned out to be a beautiful guitar but playing it is another matter completely. I used fret wire on the neck, brass phillip head screws for the fret buttons and small recessed fret markers on the side of the neck. In staying true to the 'homemade' guitar, I like to use as much home spun hardware as possible (like the bolt for the nut, a cabinet hinge for a string guide and bridge). The f-note holes were drawn on and then cut out with a Dremel.
